There are many types of pronouns and each of them has its own use and location in the sentence, so today we have going to study a very important type of pronouns that is called (relative pronouns).

The importance of relative pronouns in English
The most important relative pronouns and widely used in English are (Who- whose-whose-whom- where- when)
And for their function, they associated two simple clauses, and turn them in to one complex clause.
It also connect between adjective clause and adjective noun which precedes it for examples:
- The man who called yesterday wants to buy the house.
- We live in a ground floor flat, which backs onto a busy street.
- These women who are they?

We learn generally recognize the function of these pronouns in sentence in English, now we will recognize the use of each of them separately.
1- Who
This pronoun is used to refer to a human being whether plural or singular.
Also, it always comes in the middle in sentence as illustrated examples:
- He is the boy who lives in next door.
- That is the actor, who played the officer in the movie.
- I met an pretty girl, who was speaking French.
- Who invited you to the conference?
2- Which
This pronoun is used in the sentence as a subject or object, it may come to replace subject noun that refers to things or animals as examples:
- This poem, thanks to which I won the contest.
- This is the camera, which I inherited from my dad.
- The book which you bought is on the bag.
3- whose
This pronoun comes to express ownership, it also comes after the owner thing and before it comes the owner of this thing such as:
- Whose jacket that is in the dressing room?
- I am not sure whose phone that is.
- He is the man whose car was stolen.
- Whose umbrella is this?
4- Whom
This pronoun comes in the sentence as objective, it might come instead of (him-her-them) for examples:
- They are nurses whom work here.
- With whom your brother going to the match?
- My sister has Six kids, Three of whom are in college.
- Jasmine threw the ball to whom?
5- where
This pronoun is always used to indicate to places such as:
- This is the house, where I was born.
- This is where, we used to get together.
- This is the first hospital, where I practiced medicine.
6- when
This pronoun is used to express time for examples:
- My brother felt joy, when he went to the circus.
- I was nervous, when the teacher asked for the book.
- I remember all our memories together, when we were young.
- My health was very good, when I was exercising.
