How to configure the present simple tense?

And now we’re going to know how to form the present simple tense in its different cases.

The case  Formulation Examples
Affirmation     Subject + verb + s + object (He- she –it)
Subject + verb + object

In the previous table, we have reviewed ways of formulating the present simple tense in all its cases, but we have to make a few points to emphasize the information.

1- We note that in the formation of the present simple tense, we add (S) to the verb in case we talk about a third part and it’s singular that is just with (He – she- it) only.

2- In case of negative we use (doesn’t) with singular subject (he-she-it), and (don’t) with the plural subject (They-I -you-we), this is also in the case of questioning.

3- We also notice when we use (does or doesn’t) with the singular subject, we don’t add (S) to the verb, it has to come after (do- does) the infinitive.

How to add (S) to verbs?

1- If the verb ends with one of the following letters (Ch-ss-s-sh-z), we add (es) at the end of verb such as:

💠 Fix →fixes

2- If the verb ends with ( Y), in this case we replace (Y) with( I ) then add (es) such as:

💠 Cry →cries

3- If the verb ends with ( Y )and precedes letter from these ( a-e-i-u-o), we add (S) only to the verb such as:

💠 Play→ plays
